Portfolio construction

Oakley Absolute Return (“OAR”) follows a core and satellite approach to portfolio construction.

  • The core part represents the majority of assets and is invested in managers without material structural directional bias, i.e. the managers should be able to perform irrespective of the market conditions.
  • The satellite part represents investments that do have structural directional exposures and/or structural dependencies on certain market conditions in order to perform and/or exhibit significant volatility.

Oakley Opportunities Fund ("OOFL") is an extrapolation of the satellite component of the OAR fund. The portfolio aims to identify certain investment themes as well as idiosyncratic investments that should deliver good returns over a 12-24 month investment period.
