About Us
Oakley Capital Corporate Finance (“Oakley”) is a mid-market corporate finance and advisory business offering specialist, sector-focused, advice to our clients in three core service areas: M&A advisory, Fundraisings and Corporate Broking. We formed our business in July 2007 to focus on mid-market transactions and corporate clients with a value typically of up to £500m. The business was created by Chris Godsmark and Christian Maher, who had 10 years’ experience as number 1 ranked practitioners at Investec Investment Banking. At Oakley Capital Corporate Finance we add value to our clients by giving independent, sector specialist, advice in the telecoms, media, technology, financial services and renewable energy sectors. At the core of our culture is an unrelenting commitment to exceptional service levels for our clients and a continual drive to originate deals and ideas. By continually networking and marketing, we aim to spot deal opportunities earlier than the competition, develop ideas and raise the necessary capital for public and private clients to implement those ideas. We have strong contacts with many of the leading UK institutional fund managers and have demonstrated our “placing power” in recent public fundraisings. We also have close contacts with many of the UK’s leading mid-market private equity investors.
Since we formed Oakley within the Oakley Capital group of financial services businesses, our deal pipeline has grown substantially. So far we have completed 33 transactions with a value of over £2bn and expect to increase our deal volumes significantly in 2011. We are a relationship-focused business and many of our clients have worked with us on multiple transactions over several years. Many corporate finance businesses will claim to develop long term relationships with their clients; in our case we can demonstrate this partnership approach and are happy to provide references from our existing client base to new prospective clients.
The Corporate Broking part of our business is a differentiator. We advise quoted companies on a retained basis on their relationships with institutional investors, seeking to build trust in their equity stories and attract new investors. Our retained Corporate Broking clients include The Carphone Warehouse Group PLC, the leading UK mobile phone retailer and second largest broadband provider; Telecity, the largest UK quoted hosting provider; KCOM Group, the national business telecoms group; Daisy Group, which is consolidating the UK SME telecoms sector; and Alternative Networks, the focused mid-market business telecoms provider.
We are always delighted to sit down with prospective clients to assess their needs and discuss potential business opportunities. We look forward to hearing from you.
