In 2024, Oakley agreed the transformative merger of Oakley Capital portfolio company, Webcentral and World Host Group (now hosting.com), doubling the size of the business to create a leading hosting and domains platform.
The combined business now operates in 181 countries, offering a one-stop-shop with a range of services including domains, hosting and email.
Oakley originally invested in Webcentral in October 2023, through a carve out from its parent, Webcentral Limited (now 5GN), an Australia-based digital solutions provider listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. The combination reflects Oakley’s ability to leverage its network of entrepreneurs to unearth attractive investment opportunities. In 2025 World Host Group rebranded to hosting.com. Oakley and its partners will apply their track record in scaling hosting companies to help the newly-rebranded business increase its market share in the fragmented, growing global hosting market.
